About our Decals

If you need a quick change to a date, time, name, or any other piece of info on your sign, our decals are the way to go! Adhesive decals go by many different names – stickers, labels, or overlays. Regardless of what you call them, though, they’re the perfect way to add or change information on a sign you already have installed.

FAQ's

"How long do decals last?"
- Our decals are guaranteed to last at least 2 years outdoors without fading at all! The UV-resistant ink we use on our decals is the same as the print on the rest of our signs.
"Are decals reusable?"
- Not under normal circumstances. Once your decal is stuck, it’s stuck. Tearing off the decal will cause significant damage to the adhesive backing, stretch the vinyl, and leave a glue residue on the sign print it was attached to, leaving it unusable.
- The one exception to the rule would be decals specifically made to be “removable” or “reusable”! In that case, you can remove and reuse the decal.
- We offer these at the same cost as our regular decals! All you have to do is put your special request in the comments, email us at mail@1800thesign.com, or call us at 1-800-843-7446.
- Please note that reusable decals can only ship out from our headquarters in Ft. Lauderdale, Florida, so it may increase shipping time in transit.
"Do you offer die-cut or cut to shape decals?"
- Yes! We also offer die-cut decals! Just reach out to us and we’ll be happy to handle your special request. Keep in mind, though, that any specialized decals can ship out only from our Ft. Lauderdale, Florida production facility, which may increase shipping time in transit.

Sign Care

Taking care of your decal is just like taking care of your rigid signs! Here’s how to do it:
General Cleaning: Use warm, soapy water and a soft sponge to gently wipe down the surface.
Spot Cleaning: For tougher spots, Windex is a safe and effective choice.
Rinsing: A garden hose works perfectly—our decals are rust-proof.
Drying: Air dry your sign or gently pat it dry with a soft towel.
Avoid Using: Harsh chemicals like bleach, alcohol, or abrasive cleaners (e.g., Clorox, Comet, Soft Scrub, Scrubbing Bubbles, Lysol). These products can damage the print and vinyl.

How to Install

• When you first unbox your decal, you’ll see that the print is covered with protective transfer tape. The purpose of this is to add rigidity to the decal for application purposes, and also to protect the print from scratches during the application process. Keep the tape on through the entire application process.
• Start by getting your squeegee handy (if you don’t have a squeegee, a credit card works as a great substitute). Peel off the wax paper on the back of the decal to expose the adhesive. Once you line up the decal to where you want it, gently stick down the edge of the decal. Using a swiping motion, use your squeegee (or credit card) to stick your decal to your sign. You should start in the middle of the decal with a swipe up to the top edge, followed by a swipe from the middle of the decal to the bottom edge. Continue this way from edge to edge until the entirety of the decal is stuck to your sign.
• (Pro Tip: if you aren’t confident in your placement skills, don’t worry! Squirt just a little bit of Windex or soapy water to the back of the decal before sticking it to the sign. If your placement is crooked, the liquid will allow you to pull the decal up once or twice to try again without damaging the adhesive backing or the print on your sign.)
